The manufacturing process of rattan furniture can be divided into eight parts: raw material selection, raw material grinding, raw material processing, polishing, assembly, weaving, semi-finished grinding and fuel injection.

First, the choice of raw materials:

Second, the raw materials polished:

The surface of the vine is rough and is a prickly plant. Therefore, when the production is carried out, the raw material is "polished". This kind of grinding machine is a tool for grinding the raw materials of vines, mainly using sanding belts and grinding wheels. Grinding should be done in two parts, one for rough grinding and one for fine sanding.

First step

For rough grinding, use the 80-type coarse sand belt; place the rattan between the grinding machine belt and the grinding wheel, and apply a little force to make the surface of the vine basically smooth.

The second step is fine grinding

After the first round of grinding, the surface of the rattan has been smoothed a lot, but it is still slightly rough, then a second round of fine sanding is needed. Now we use this type 180 fine sanding belt for re-grinding. The 180-type abrasive belt is thinner than the 80-type abrasive belt, so that the polished vine will be smoother. There are three links when bending, they are heating, bending and cooling.

First, use a musket to heat the 65-centimeter of the rattan. When heating at a high temperature, keep moving the lance to uniformly heat the part of the rattan that needs to be bent. After heating to a certain extent, the rattan is placed on the console with the heat, and the heat is applied to make it bend and deform. It is probably bent to about 90 degrees, then stop heating and use a high-pressure air cooling gun to cool the rattan to shape it. The heating, bending and cooling setting operations were also carried out in the same manner at the other end of 65 cm.

Here, I would like to remind you that if there is excessive bending, it is necessary to reheat the place where the rattan is over-bent and bend it back to the appropriate angle. In this way, one part of the pedal part of the cane chair is processed.

2, the production of the foot support rod

We just made a part of the pedal part, and then we need to make the foot support bar, a total of three. We used a ruler with a uniform thickness and a diameter of about 5 cm to measure three sections of 38 cm in length, and then saw the mouth and then rinsed them separately.

The cornice is made by making a groove at each centimeter of the ends of the cut rattan. The purpose of the groove is to meet the needs of the rattan chair assembly. The main tool used in polishing is the polishing machine. It has a slightly different effect from the grinding process. Although it smoothes the surface of the object, the polishing mainly involves the local treatment of the finished part by the grinding wheel.

The focus of polishing is still on these knots, followed by the surfaces that have just been carbonized by high temperature heating. If the force is too large, it may cause the grinding wheel to grind more places, resulting in unnecessary loss of the polished parts. This is the polished pedal part, giving a feeling of clean and smooth.

4, the assembly of the pedal:

Next, we will assemble the parts we just made, which is a complete pedal. The tools required for assembly are: electric drill, pneumatic screwdriver, drill No. 5, screw No. 5.

Install the first support rod at a distance of 68 cm from the front of the foot. First use the electric drill to punch holes. Note that the drill bit No. 5 is used here. When punching, pay attention to the angle between the drill bit and the support rod is vertical, and must not be deflected. After punching the holes, put 2 screws and fix them with a pneumatic screwdriver. The other end also needs to be fixed in the same way.

Install a second support rod at a distance of 22 cm from the top of the foot. It is also punched and fixed with screws. The third support rod is positioned between the top of the foot and the support rod. Two holes are made at each end of the support rod and finally fixed by screws. In this way, the assembly of the pedal portion of the cane chair is completed.

The second part of the production of cane chair armrests

This is the armrest part of the rattan chair. The production process is the same as the pedal part of the wicker chair, which is also completed by bending, rinsing and assembling. Selection of raw materials: Select the Bataan rattan rattan with a diameter of about 5 cm, uniform thickness and a length of 1.5 m to make the handrail. The steps of making the tool and bending are roughly the same as making the pedals of the cane chair, but the points of the bend are slightly different.

We heat and bend at a distance of about 30 cm from the end of the rattan. When the strip is bent to 90 degrees, it is cooled and shaped; then it is heated and bent at about 50 cm from the curved part, and the shape is treated. It is a semicircle with a diameter of about 50 cm.

The template is specially designed to ensure the left and right symmetry of the handrail, and the armrest portion is placed, if appropriate, and processed to a size that conforms to the template if it is not suitable.

1. Production of rocking parts

This is the rocking part of the wicker chair. Now we have to process the first part of the rocking part, and its raw material is also Bataan. First select a Bandatan rattan strip with a diameter of 5 cm and a length of 2.9 m, and cut such a bevel at a distance of 40 cm from the end of the rattan.

The purpose is to make the center of the flower close and tight when the flower is spent, and this is also for the sake of aesthetics. When performing the oblique mouth treatment, use the electric saw to master the length to be cut. Start at 40 cm from the end of the rattan, let the rattan slowly move diagonally on the machine tool, and cut a diagonal opening.

Note: The force of the hand must be uniform, the thickness is moderate, and the force is too strong, the rattan will be shortened, the force is too small, and the cutting will be too thick and affect the use. Next we need to adjust the console to replace the cylindrical cylinder with a diameter of 25 cm into a cylinder of 15 cm diameter.

You may have noticed that there is a small opening on the side of this cylindrical cylinder that is 3 cm wide. This small opening is for special use, and we will introduce it to you later.

Going back to the part of the ship we made, first heat the slanted end with a musket, and then put it on the console. 3. Production of the rocker support rod:

Take a 5 inch diameter Bataan rattan strip, measure 34 cm with a ruler, then break it with a saw, and rinse and grind it. Get the rocker support bar we need.

Fourth, assembly:

The assembly of our part is mainly to assemble the cane chair armrests, the rocker parts, the rocker and the rocker support rods, which can be assembled on the half of the rocking chair. Before assembly, we still have to polish these parts first. The polishing method is the same as before, and will not be described here.

The tools used for assembly are No. 5 electric drill, electric screwdriver and No. 5 screw. Fifth, the production of decorative disc flowers

In addition to the swaying flowers mentioned above, there are many decorative platters on the vines. These large and small decorative platters not only play a role in decorative landscaping, but also play a supporting role. In this session, we will focus on how these discs are made.

Usually, a rattan rocking chair requires 8 small decorative discs and 2 slightly larger decorative discs. The manufacturing process is basically the same, but the size is slightly different.

We introduce you to the small decorative flower as an example. This is the simple console for making small discs. This iron strip is fixed during production to avoid misalignment.

The rattan used in making the small dish is the vine. We choose a vine rattan rattan with a diameter of 1 cm and a length of 80 cm. There is a slanting opening at the end of the rattan 10 cm, which is also a special treatment for the aesthetics of the flower. After heating the rattan slightly, fix the end with the oblique opening, then coil around the center, about three to four rings, when the end of the rattan remains about 10 cm, then use a nail gun in the disk. Fix it at the periphery so that the disk is not loose, and it can be fixed at two or three points. In the same way, a total of six small decorative plates of the same size are required.

The method of making large decorative discs is basically the same as that of small decorative discs. Two rattan strips with a diameter of 1, 5 cm and a length of 110 cm are selected, and two are produced.

After making the decorative plate flower, we will simply assemble all the above-mentioned production parts one by one, and the half of the wicker chair will be basically completed. Next we have to make the following parts, which are:

V-shaped rattan support with a diameter of about 1 cm and a length of about 100 cm; A vine "bow" rattan support of approximately 1 cm in diameter and approximately 90 cm in length, two C-shaped cane supports of approximately 1 cm in diameter and approximately 60 cm in length, one; approximately 5 cm in diameter and approximately 45 cm in length 5 support rods. The raw materials produced here are Bataan Vine. Since these parts are only different in shape, size and quantity, but the production process is basically the same, we will not separately explain how they are made.

5. When making a disc flower, the front end of the strip should be cut out with a diagonal opening. This is important to make it more beautiful.

6. When polishing the knots and high-temperature carbonization of the rattan, pay attention to the movements to be gentle and meticulous, not too much force, so as to avoid excessive wear of the polished objects.

7. Every object produced needs to be polished.

8. When assembling the components, be sure to pay attention to the position of the connection points. Each place needs to make two connection holes and fix them with screws. The purpose of making the two holes is to make the connection more secure.

Finally, no matter when making the furniture, you should pay attention to the different types of rattan when making different parts. Because different types of rattan, the thickness of the soft and hard will be different, so the suitable parts at the time of production will be different, such as: PCT has a soft texture, strong toughness, suitable for weaving a variety of patterns. Therefore, it is generally peeled off its skin, using the core inside to make the main material, can be added to different coarse discs, or used to prepare a variety of patterns, as well as like a single vine, because its festival The length is slender, the stripes are beautiful, and the texture is firmer. Another point is that when heating different parts, you must pay attention to the degree of bending when heating. Since the curvature and shape of each part of each furniture are different, in actual operation, it must be based on The determined shape of the processed article is to perform a specific operation. Try not to repeat the heating and bending of the same part too much. The quality of the rattan will be damaged. It is best to bend when you have a good number of hearts and avoid multiple modifications.
