The global digital printing market is becoming saturated

According to the "World Office Machinery Forecast Report" released by the Japan Business Machinery and Information Systems Industry Association on January 31, the sales volume of digital presses in Japan and the world fell slightly from the previous year in 2012, and it is expected to continue in 2013 and 2014 cut back. Experts in the industry have analyzed that the reason for the decline in the sales of digital printing presses in the world in the next few years is that the market is becoming saturated, and on the other hand, due to the declining printing costs and improved performance of copiers, the competitiveness of digital printing presses has increased.

The forecast report shows that the total sales of 10 types of office machinery such as sheet-fed presses, digital presses, copiers, data projectors, electronic calculators, electronic dictionaries, electronic cash registers, shredders, electronic blackboards, and time recorders The amount was 1.8 trillion yen in 2011 and 1.72 trillion yen in 2012, a year-on-year decrease of 4%. It is expected to be reduced to 1.7 trillion yen and 1.68 trillion yen in 2013 and 2014, respectively. The year-on-year declines were 1.3% and 1%, respectively.

Global digital press sales will decline in the next few years

According to the statistics of the forecast report, in 2011, the domestic sales volume of digital printing machines was 29,170 units, which increased to 29,670 units in 2012, but in 2013 and 2014 it will be reduced to 29,300 and 29,000 units. In addition to Japanese manufacturers, the annual sales volume of digital printing presses of Chinese manufacturers is between 3,000 and 4,000.

Digital press sales in countries outside Japan were 52,950 in 2011, and will be reduced to 49,300, 48,100 and 47,500 in 2012, 2013 and 2014, respectively. The total sales volume in the world will be reduced from 82,100 units in 2011 to 78,910 units in 2012, 77,400 units in 2013 and 76,500 units in 2014. World digital printing press sales were 19.1 billion yen in 2011, and will be reduced to 18.3 billion yen, 17.7 billion yen, and 17.2 billion yen in 2012, 2013, and 2014, respectively.

Global sales of sheet-fed printers decreased by more than 10% in 2012

Statistics also show that global sales of sheet-fed printing presses decreased by more than 10% in 2012, from 22.48 million units in 2011 to 2.03 million units in 2012, and to 19 million units in 2013 and 2014, respectively And 18.27 million units.

Among them, the sales volume of black and white sheet-fed printing machines was more significant, from 16.51 million units in 2012 to 15.36 million units in 2013 and 14.5 million units in 2014, while the sales of color sheet-fed printing machines will be increased from 2012 The annual 3.52 million units increased to 3.65 million units in 2013 and 3.77 million units in 2014. Some experts believe that an important reason for the poor sales of black-and-white sheet-fed printing presses is the worldwide popularization of A4 compound copiers.

Sales of sheet-fed presses worldwide were 307.6 billion yen in 2011, and will be reduced to 273.8 billion yen, 255.6 billion yen, and 240 billion yen in 2012, 2013, and 2014, respectively. Among them, the sales of black and white sheet-fed printing machines will be reduced from 198.9 billion yen in 2012 to 159 billion yen in 2014, and the sales of color sheet-fed printing machines will be reduced from 84.3 billion yen in 2012 to 809 in 2014 100 million yen.

World electronic dictionary sales decreased by 4.7% year-on-year

In addition, the world electronic dictionary sales were 48.5 billion yen in 2012, a decrease of 4.7% over the previous year, and will be slightly reduced to 47.5 billion yen and 46.5 billion yen in 2013 and 2014, respectively. The 20.2 billion yen in 2012 increased to 20.7 billion yen in 2013 and 21 billion yen in 2014, respectively.

Data show that the domestic electronic dictionary market in Japan was 31.5 billion yen in 2011. Due to the rapid popularity of smartphones and tablet terminals in 2012, most business people no longer use electronic dictionaries, and sales fell to 28.3 billion yen by 2014 It will be reduced to 25.5 billion yen each year. The main application of Japanese electronic dictionaries will be students in the future, and the penetration rate of electronic dictionaries among students is already quite high (more than 70% for college students).

Outside Japan, the electronic dictionary market in China and Southeast Asia and some European countries is developing well. In particular, the annual sales volume of Chinese electronic dictionaries is as high as millions. The sales volume of electronic dictionaries in the world was 7.63 million units in 2012, an increase of 1.5% over the previous year. In 2013 and 2014, they will increase to 7.77 million units and 7.92 million units respectively. The sales volume of countries outside Japan will be 5.95 million units in 2012. The number of units increased to 6.18 million units in 2013 and 6.4 million units in 2014.
