On the afternoon of January 16, 2017, the establishment of the Guangdong Outdoor Sports Association and the first member congress was held in Panyu, Guangzhou. Xu Ruisheng, deputy governor of Guangdong Province, attended the speech. The meeting reviewed and approved the preparatory work report of the Guangdong Provincial Outdoor Sports Association and the draft articles of association (draft) to draft amendments. The constitution of the Guangdong Provincial Outdoor Sports Association was revised and voted. The secret ballot election resulted in the selection of the candidates for the first session of the Guangdong Provincial Outdoor Sports Association Board of Directors and the Board of Supervisors, resulting in the first leadership structure of the Guangdong Provincial Outdoor Sports Association. Among them, Tian Xinde was elected as the chairman of the first Guangdong Provincial Outdoor Sports Association. Tian Xinde introduced the association’s recent work plan. The association will go all out to cooperate with the provincial sports bureau and other departments to run the three major events of the Guangdong-Guangzhou Orienteering Competition, the Guangdong First Peak (Shouguan? Ruyuan) Triathlon Challenge, and the Trekking Danxia Mountain Campaign. The national fitness boutique competition promotes the development of Lingnan's material cultural heritage, allowing more people to enjoy the beautiful ancient villages, ancient roads and feelings of local customs in South China.
Through hard work, the Nanyi Gushaodao Directional Competition has been listed in the Orienteering Series Competition at Taishan Haikou on May 24, 2017. It is the 59th in the world and the first domestically recognized competition organization. It marks a solid step towards becoming a major event of the International Federation of Guiding Competitions. In the next few years, the Association aims to make the Nanyue Ancient Shu Road Series into an internationally renowned brand event and strives to enter the top 100 most sponsored sports events in China.
Director of the Guangdong Provincial Sports Bureau, Director Wang Shuping, said that it is necessary for the Guangdong Outdoor Sports Association to assist and send a course, improve the policy mechanism, optimize the development environment, increase funding support, and provide a favorable policy environment for the development of outdoor sports in Guangdong Province. Give full play to the role of social forces, gradually transfer the functions of the government to the society, reduce the management of micro-level affairs, and do business guidance and supervision.
Vice Governor Xu Ruisheng delivered a speech at the meeting. In the future, the Nanyu Gudaidao Directional Competition will be hosted by the Guangdong Provincial Outdoor Sports Association; the Association shall work hard on diversity and internationalization, and combine the Nanyue Ancient Road Directional Competition with cycling, RVs and other elements to learn from the competition of the International Directional Competition.
