US invents biodegradable turf base material

The Turf Stabilization Technology Corporation of Ohio, USA, has developed a support material that is easier to ship and lay on biodegradable stadium natural turf.
The company claims that this is a turf base material system made of synthetic fibers. This base material has a number of holes to facilitate turf drainage and allow grass roots to pass through. The turf substrate material is at least partially biodegradable, increasing the space during the degradation process, which promotes the growth of the grass.
The turf has its base, and the shopper lays the base material of the full fiber turf on it. The bottom of the turf has a structural layer underneath, and the turf lower base provides drainage and structural support.
