Most shrink sleeves use acrylic-based cold foil adhesives, but when the labels shrink on the container, the adhesive will cause wrinkles in the shrink sleeve, so it is necessary to ensure that the adhesive has shrinkage . K-Laser and UVitec are able to provide adhesives with shrinkage capabilities. At the beginning of printing, it is necessary to use an anilox roller with a mesh number and a cell volume of about 500 lpi/5 bcm. Once the printing setting is optimized, it can be replaced with an anilox roller of 600 lpi/4 bcm.

If cold stamping is performed in a region where the shrinkage ratio is relatively large, a texture pattern such as a diamond shape or a tapered line may be used to ensure that the hot stamping foil shrinks without cracking.

How to achieve fine cold

Not all embossing rolls are the same, and cold scalding requires a higher hardness embossing roll to ensure a fine hot stamping effect. If you want to confirm the hardness of the platen roller, you can use the nail to try to squeeze it. If the surface of the platen roller is deformed when squeezed, it means that the hardness is not enough to achieve fine stamping of details. Generally, the pressure roller used for cold ironing has a hardness of 85 to 90.
