Japan developed a food residue power generation device

Japan's Jingcun Cake Factory has recently successfully developed a power plant that can convert the biogas produced from the fermentation of food residues into fuel for power generation and convert it into electricity. This is beneficial to environmental protection.

According to Nikkan Kogyo Shimbun, the newly-developed “biogas facility” first ferments liquids and other food residues spilled during food production to produce biogas, which is then transported to a power generating turbine. Its power generation capacity is 40 kilowatts per day, which is used for the factory's wastewater treatment facilities and can basically meet half of its electricity consumption.

Japan's Ichimura Pastry Factory used to burn 300 tons of liquid food residues each day and turned 1400 tons of solid food residue into fertilizer and feed. However, these treatments still emit harmful gases and pollute the environment.
