A functional demo version of the system prints 96 colors and multiple reagent types (proteins, peptides, DNA, organic chemicals, volatile solvents, etc.) from SBS plates, and a nozzle can digitally dispense 3,000 drops per second. . “We hope that the FormaJetTM platform will advance our existing technology to print a variety of biomolecular materials to meet the clear need for faster printing speeds and densities, as well as to increase the number of reagents that can be printed at once,†TTP said. For the development of FormaJet, TTP focuses on three areas: diagnostics, drug discovery, and droplet-based digital printing. The end result is a bioprinting platform that uses droplet generation and control techniques to apply the bioprinting structure to the above applications. The FormaJet system has a "gentle operation" that reduces the risk of damage to printed objects and materials by effectively avoiding any "thermal shock" to the printed object.
